Conferences
HCSC operates a series of conferences/”institutes” where we bring educational experts together with school creators and leaders to share innovative and effective practices, examine and address challenges from the field, and share our vision for the future of the Hebrew language charter school movement. Currently, we offer two institutes:
Planning Group Institute
Once a year, for two days (Sunday evening through Tuesday morning), HCSC offers a Planning Group Institute to support and advise groups planning to start a Hebrew language charter school. The next Institute focuses on the process of starting new charter schools, completing the HCSC’s grant application, and submitting charter applications. Participants in the HCSC Planning Group Institute are able to engage with experts in curricular, educational, operational and legal aspects of charter schools and relevant State charter laws.
National School Leadership Institute
Once a year, for two days (Sunday evening through Tuesday morning), HCSC offers a National School Leadership Institute to support existing Hebrew charter schools in their efforts to achieve excellence. Topics addressed at our National School Leadership Institute include governance and management, dual language instruction, the importance of diversity, fiscal accountability, comprehensive school planning, and models of teaching.
